Quest Care and Recreation
Quest Care and Recreation is here to support families! Our services are available to students of Quest School and the young adult participants at the Centre for Opportunity, as well as students with disabilities from other schools. Registered students can use Before and After Care and Holiday Care respite as needed.
Before and After Care
Students are provided with a variety of self-directed activity choices, supervised by our dedicated team of staff. They can choose to burn off energy, or rest and relax. This is a great opportunity for socialization outside of the classroom environment with a wide variety of peers.
At Barlow, we have access to the gymnasium for active play, along with toys, games, arts and crafts, and books. We also have use of the school’s sensory gym and multi-sensory room.
At Sunalta, our older participants have access to books, hobbies, games, movies, and other self-directed activities.
Students must be registered with Quest Care and Recreation, but can then use B&A as needed. Some students attend every day, some simply attend now and then.

Holiday Care
We are open on Quest PD days and school holidays for respite care, available to our registered participants. Respite days must be booked and paid in advance. Respite is open from 9:00-3:30, with optional B&A available from 7:00 am- 6:00 pm.

Transportation
Please note that Quest does not provide transportation to or from any Care and Recreation services. Quest students are collected from their classrooms at the end of each day.
Students coming from other schools must arrange their own transportation. Your school bus may be able to arrange drop-off at our program.
Access Calgary is also a great resource for transportation. Please visit their website for more information and application.
Rates
Our hourly rate is $22.00, with a minimum of 15 hours ($330) per month.
Families who will not regularly meet the monthly minimum may choose to access B&A on a drop-in basis at $35.00 per hour. Drop-in clients must be registered with the program before attending.
Drop-off and pick-up times are tracked daily- billing is rounded up to the nearest 15 minutes. For example, if you drop your child off at 7:38 am, the time is rounded to 7:30, and you are billed for 1.25 hours.
There is a minimum one-hour charge per day used.
Funding
Many families receive funding for B&A through Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD). You can inquire with your caseworker if you are eligible for B&A funding. For more information about FSCD and how to apply, please visit their website.
We are able to direct bill FSCD for their coverage. If you wish to set up direct billing, we will need a copy of your contract stating the rate of coverage you are receiving.
Billing
Invoices will be sent out monthly via email for B&A fees, approximately two weeks after the end of each month. For example, January invoices are sent out in mid-February. Payment is due 30 days after receipt- prompt payment is very much appreciated to reduce our administrative costs.
Our preferred method of payment is via our online payment portal. Alternative payment arrangements can be made if necessary.
Please click here if you are looking for the payment portal.
